Mehmet Zorlu first gained his commercial identity as a sole proprietorship on the 16th of March, 1953. Later, company registered as Zorlu Trading Unlimited Company, Mehmet Zorlu & Sons on the 4th of January, 1968.
Today, Zorlu Holding Company, with its production capacity, R&D investments of high productivity, and technological superiorities, is one of the strongest production establishments of the Turkish industry.
The activities of Zorlu Holding Co., which has succeeded to have its name written among the largest establishments of Turkiye in recent years, includes a wide range of areas from electronic to energy.
As of the year of 2002, Zorlu Holding Company is active in the following four main areas:

Zorlu Holding Company, which had continued its growth by its works in the home textile ares until the eighties, and created TAÇ under the name of the Zorlu Holding Textile Group, being the leader brand name in the home textile sector in Turkiye, acquired Vestel Elektronik in the year of 1994. The Holding Company increased the number of its companies by stepping into the energy sector with Zorlu Energy in 1996, and finance sector with DenizBank in 1997.
The Group export, being 600 million USD in 1998, increased to 680 million USD in 1999, and reached 852 million USD in 2000.
The export figures of Zorlu Holding Company increased even in the year of 2001 in which a heavy economical crisis experienced in our country, and exceeded 879 million USD. As for the year of 2002, the figures reached 1.3 billion USD.
Today Zorlu Holding Company, together with about 20.000 employees in its 46 companies, works for the living quality of the Turkish people.
Home textile, polyester yarn
Activities of the Zorlu Group in the home textile area have increased in time by a great speed, and extended beyond the borders of Turkiye, and today have reached a total of 19 companies including 11 production companies and 8 marketing companies in France, Germany, South Africa and USA together with the ones in Turkiye.
Electronic products, information technologies and durable consumables
The Vestel Group consisting of a total of 14 companies including five domestic and nine foreign companies which are active in the electronic, white goods and information technology fields is the flagship of the investments of Zorlu Holding Company in the electronic sector.
Financial services
Zorlu Holding purchased DenizBank from the Privatization Management at the beginning of 1997, and started activities in the banking sector in September of the same year.
DenizBank, having increased the number of its Branches up to 164, continuously strengthens and improves its institutional and individual banking services.
Energy generation
The Zorlu Energy is the first company of the Group giving service to the energy sector.
The Zorlu Energy, which was founded in 1993 in order to meet the electricity need of Zorlu Holding Company itself is currently selling electricity to 224 subscribers belonging to 180 industrial establishments.
